A rack brush panel places one or more brush strips across a cable opening. It lets cables pass while reducing open gaps, dust entry, and unwanted airflow.
Rack Brush Panel Configurations We Manufacture
1U and 2U describe panel height. Open and closed describe the frame. Single and opposing describe brush layout. U height alone does not confirm fit: check rack width, hole pattern, opening position and clearance.
2U rack brush panels
- More opening height for larger cable bundles.
Single and opposing brush strips
- Single strip: brush entry from one side.
- Opposing strips: brush contact from both sides.
Custom rack and enclosure panels
- Specify size, opening, hole pattern, material, and brush layout from a drawing or sample.
Brush Fill
Dense PA6 nylon and specified flame-retardant options are available for cable entry. The final material grade and required documentation are confirmed for the approved construction. A component material rating does not establish a UL 94 V-0 rating for the complete assembly.
- Dense black, straight PA6 nylon for cable entry.
- Specify filament diameter, fill density, any required UL 94 class, the component to which it applies, and the supporting material documentation required for approval.
Panel Construction
Panel bodies and brush strips are selected around the rack opening and mounting requirement. For already connected cables, specify an open, split or otherwise accessible frame that fits around the installed connectors.
Rigid PVC H-profile body
- Pre-drilled 1U reference construction with tufted brush fill.
Steel-shell rack panel
- Steel panel with a nylon brush strip at the cable opening.
- Specify material, hole pattern, finish, and hardware on the drawing.
Common Applications
Rack brush panels are used where cables enter equipment while the opening should remain covered around the cable bundle. The brush is not a hermetic seal; dust and airflow performance must be checked in the installed enclosure.
