Bore diameter, working length, core or stem, abrasive, and grit are defined for the cylinder application. Working lengths of 150–500 mm and diameters of 3.2–271 mm or custom can be reviewed for cylinder builds; the exact range follows the selected construction.

Small-diameter formats provide access to restricted bores; large-diameter formats support larger cylindrical surfaces. Final diameter, trim, length, and fit are made to the approved drawing.
Select the abrasive system, grit, and flexible filament construction against the workpiece and required finish rather than treating one specification as universal.

Common grit options are #60, #120, #180, #240, #320, and #600. Finer grades up to #1200 can be specified for selected cylinder builds. Final grit is selected for the workpiece and finish requirement.
