Ring and Circular-Flange Brushes
Full-circle brush sections mount around a pig body or flange to provide circumferential contact. Confirm the brush OD, center opening, bolt-circle pattern, plate thickness and rotation or travel direction.

Custom and replacement brush components for steel mandrel, polyurethane and other approved pipeline cleaning pig designs.
Ring, wrap, block, segment and pencil-brush constructions can be developed from a detailed drawing, existing sample or verified pig specification. Bulk custom production is available after the design and materials are approved.
Send Your Brush DrawingA pipeline pig brush is a replaceable component mounted on a cleaning pig to contact the internal pipe wall. Depending on its construction and wire profile, it can help loosen black powder, wax or paraffin, rust, scale, sand, sludge and debris from corrosion pits.
This page covers the brush component only. Brushcustom does not represent the brush as a complete cleaning pig, an inline inspection tool or a pipeline-cleaning service.

Full-circle brush sections mount around a pig body or flange to provide circumferential contact. Confirm the brush OD, center opening, bolt-circle pattern, plate thickness and rotation or travel direction.
Wrap brushes fit around a polyurethane or steel pig body and are commonly secured between sealing elements or with defined fasteners. The wrap length, overlap, fixing points and installed diameter must match the pig construction.
Rectangular brush blocks can mount on fixed or spring-loaded arms. Their backing plate, mounting holes, spring arrangement and trim determine how the brush follows the pipe wall and accommodates changes in internal diameter.
Multiple curved brush sections can be arranged around a larger pig body. Segment angle, spacing, mounting and installed OD must be confirmed as a complete set rather than quoted from one loose section alone.
Pencil brush clusters allow individual wire bundles to contact irregular surfaces and reach deposits in corrosion pits. The wire material, cluster construction, tuft retention, density and trim require application-specific review.
The replacement unit depends on the pig design. A ring or circular-flange brush is commonly supplied as a complete ring assembly. Wrap brushes may be supplied as individual wrap sections, while block, segment and pencil-brush layouts may use several matched components around one pig.
We can review either an individual replacement component or the complete brush set required for one pig. Confirm the position and quantity of each brush in the assembly. A complete brush set means the matched brush components only, not the complete pipeline pig.
Flat wire, round or crimped wire, and pencil clusters are not interchangeable descriptions. Final selection depends on the deposit, pipe material and coating, transported medium, temperature, actual pipe ID, pig speed, bend and valve geometry, and required brush contact.

Pipeline pig brushes may use an HDPE or engineered-plastic core, a steel or stainless-steel backing plate, or a combined core-and-plate assembly. Depending on the brush type, mounting may use a center hole, bolt-circle pattern, clamps, fasteners, fixed arms or spring-loaded arms.
HDPE is one possible core material, not a universal choice for every pipeline. Its grade, temperature range, chemical compatibility, dimensional stability and wire-retention method must be approved for the actual operating environment.
Cleaning results depend on the complete pig configuration and operating program. A brush component alone cannot guarantee full deposit removal, coating protection or unrestricted pig passage.
For an accurate review, provide:
Pig manufacturer, model and existing part number, if available
Actual minimum and maximum pipeline ID—not only nominal pipe size
Brush type, finished OD, core or backing dimensions and trim length
Center hole, bolt-circle pattern, mounting holes, clamps or spring-arm details
Wire material, profile, diameter or section, density and retention method
Deposit to be removed and whether the pipe has an internal coating or liner
Transported medium, temperature and other material-compatibility requirements
Quantity and installed position of each brush component on one pig
Individual replacement component or complete brush set required
Drawing, existing sample, order quantity and first-article requirements
Yes. Send a detailed drawing or an approved sample showing the brush, backing and mounting interface. Pig make and model are useful references, but they do not replace the actual dimensions and construction.
It depends on the deposit and pipeline. Flat carbon-steel wire provides aggressive edge contact, round wire offers more flexible contact, stainless steel may be selected for specified corrosion conditions, and pencil clusters are used where individual wires need to reach irregular surfaces or pits. Material compatibility must be reviewed for the operating environment.
Not necessarily. The brush must be designed around the actual internal diameter, pig body, required interference and pipeline restrictions. Provide the minimum and maximum pipe ID rather than relying only on nominal pipe size.
They can be reviewed with a compatible non-metallic or less aggressive filament, but no brush should be described as coating-safe without the coating specification and an approved test. Share the coating or liner material and its cleaning restrictions.
Yes. Ring assemblies, wrap sections, blocks, segments or pencil-brush modules can be supplied as a matched set after the installed positions and quantity per pig are confirmed. This refers to the brush components, not the complete pig.
This page covers custom and replacement brush components. Complete pigs, ILI tools and field pigging services are outside the stated scope unless separately confirmed and quoted.
Send your brush drawing, pig specification or existing sample with the actual pipeline ID, mounting details, wire requirement, operating conditions and order quantity. We support bulk custom production for approved OEM and replacement designs.
