What Is a Strip Brush?

A custom strip brush is a linear industrial brush made with a metal-channel or polymer backing and a dense filament fill. Strip brushes—also called brush strips—provide a flexible working edge for sealing, guiding, shielding, dust control, and light wiping around machines, conveyors, panels, and enclosures.

For OEM and replacement projects, the visible brush is only part of the fit. Backing profile, holder or track dimensions, trim height, filament material, fill density, and mounting direction determine whether the strip installs correctly and makes the intended contact without rework.

How Strip Brush Backings and Fill Are Built

The backing carries and mounts the brush, while the filament provides the working contact. Metal-channel and polymer-backed strip brushes use different carrier constructions and should not be specified as the same profile.
