Machine-Mounted Disc Brush

What Is a Floor Scrubber Disc Brush?

A floor scrubber disc brush is a circular machine-mounted brush that rotates with its bristles contacting the floor. It is used for wet scrubbing, soil removal and other defined floor-maintenance duties on compatible walk-behind, ride-on or single-disc machines.

Unlike a sweeper side brush, which moves loose debris toward a collection path, a scrubber disc brush works under the machine to agitate the floor surface. Unlike an industrial abrasive disc brush, it is purchased first by machine fit and floor-cleaning duty rather than by metal-finishing result.

Custom Configurations

Floor Scrubber Disc Brush Configurations We Manufacture

  • Non-abrasive synthetic disc brushes in nylon, polypropylene or polyethylene
  • Abrasive-filament disc brushes for heavy soil, buildup and approved stripping duties
  • Steel-wire disc brushes for selected hard industrial floors and severe deposits
  • Custom disc diameter, brush base, center opening and solution-feed pattern
  • Single-disc and dual-disc layouts reviewed against the confirmed specification
  • OEM, aftermarket and repeat replacement batches made to drawing or sample

Brushcustom manufactures the round disc brush only. Clutch plates, drive adapters and other machine-side mounting hardware are not supplied. The customer's existing holder or mounting parts must remain available for use with the replacement brush.

Machine Fit Review

Match the Brush to the Floor Machine

The machine make and model are useful starting references, but model revisions and cleaning-head options may use different brush diameters or brush-base details. Confirm the physical brush instead of relying on the model name alone.

Confirm these points before production:

  • Machine make, model and existing part reference
  • Actual brush or block diameter—not only the nominal cleaning width
  • Brush-base diameter, thickness, center opening and underside dimensions
  • Solution-feed or drain openings required in the brush base
  • Single- or dual-disc configuration and quantity per machine
  • Rotation direction, RPM and operating pressure where controlled
  • Clear drawing, existing brush sample or mounting-side photographs

A nominal 17- or 20-inch machine does not always use a brush block of the same diameter. A clear drawing or existing brush sample is the safest reference. Brand and model names identify the application only and do not guarantee fit.

Completed Replacement References

Floor Machine References We Have Manufactured

Previous production records include disc-brush projects using the following machine or part references. These references help identify the replacement application; every new order is still confirmed against the existing brush, drawing, actual diameter and brush-base dimensions.

Bristle Selection

Choose the Filament by Floor and Cleaning Duty

Floor scrubber disc brush base and bristle material options

Non-Abrasive Synthetic Filaments

Nylon, polypropylene and polyethylene are available for routine and surface-sensitive cleaning. Nylon is commonly reviewed for lighter scrubbing and smoother or coated floors. Polypropylene is a durable, economical general-purpose direction for many commercial hard floors. The selected polymer, filament diameter and trim must match the floor finish, soil and cleaning program.

Typical directions include coated or polished floors for softer non-abrasive contact, and tile, grout or concrete for general-purpose or stiffer synthetic contact according to the surface and soil.

Abrasive Filament

Silicon-carbide or aluminum-oxide abrasive filaments provide stronger cutting action for heavy soil, buildup, textured floors and approved stripping work. Grit, filament diameter, density, RPM and down pressure must be selected together.

Abrasive brushes can mark polished, painted, wood or sensitive coated floors. They should not be described as a universal replacement for a standard PP or nylon brush.

Steel Wire

Steel wire is reserved for selected hard industrial surfaces and severe deposits where aggressive contact is acceptable. Confirm coating-removal risk, scratching, corrosion and restrictions on loose metal fragments before selection.

The floor name alone is not enough. Floor finish, soil, cleaning chemical, embedded grit, brush pressure and RPM also affect the result. Test an inconspicuous area where surface damage is a concern.

Product Selection

Floor Scrubber Disc Brush vs. Other Circular Brushes

A floor scrubber disc brush works under a compatible cleaning machine and is selected by actual brush dimensions, floor type and scrubbing duty.

A sweeper side brush or gutter broom is angled to move loose debris from edges and curbs. An industrial abrasive disc brush performs face-contact deburring, edge rounding or surface finishing on manufactured parts. These circular brush families use different mounting and selection logic.

Purchasing Questions

FAQ

What information is needed to match a replacement disc brush?

Send the machine make and model, original part reference, actual brush or block diameter, brush-base and center-opening dimensions, bristle specification and quantity. A drawing or existing brush sample is more reliable than the nominal machine cleaning width alone.

Does the disc brush include a clutch plate or mounting adapter?

No. Brushcustom manufactures the round disc brush only. The customer's existing clutch plate, drive adapter, holder and other machine-side mounting hardware must be reused. Provide the brush-base and center-opening dimensions needed to work with those existing parts.

Which bristle material should I choose?

Nylon, polypropylene and polyethylene form the non-abrasive synthetic category for routine and surface-sensitive cleaning, but the polymers are not identical and the exact grade must be confirmed. Abrasive filament is used for approved heavier cleaning or stripping. Steel wire is limited to selected uncoated hard surfaces where marking and metal-fragment risk are acceptable. Final selection depends on the floor finish, soil, chemical, RPM and pressure.

Can abrasive floor scrubber brushes damage the floor?

Yes. Abrasive filament can scratch, dull or remove finishes when the grit, pressure or machine setup is too aggressive. Confirm the floor coating and test a small area before full use.

Can you manufacture from a drawing or existing sample for bulk orders?

Yes. Bulk OEM, aftermarket and repeat replacement orders can be reviewed from an approved drawing or existing disc-brush sample. Confirm the material, brush dimensions, center opening, inspection standard, packaging and quantity before production.
