How Trommel Screen Brushes Work
A trommel cleaning brush contacts the outside of the rotating screen drum and helps release material lodged in the apertures. The brush may be driven or may rotate through contact with the drum, depending on the machine design.
Effective cleaning depends on the brush outside diameter, screen-drum diameter, mounting centre distance, trim length, and working engagement. Filament stiffness alone cannot correct an unsuitable contact position or an incorrectly sized brush.

We review the brush construction around the actual machine layout and replacement interface.
Complete roller brushes with the required shaft, stub shaft, bushing, or bearing arrangement.
Spiral-wound or brush-coil constructions for installation on an existing shaft or core.
Machine-specific replacement assemblies manufactured from an approved, detailed drawing. Wafer or ring sections are reviewed only when the existing assembly uses that construction.

Brush fill, stiffness, density, trim, core, shaft, and mounting details are confirmed for the screen surface and processed material. Nylon, polyester, PP, wire, and mixed fill are not interchangeable; the right direction depends on the screen media, aperture, material condition, brush position, and operating environment.

Not reliably. The make and model help us identify the project, but brush arrangements can vary by model year, option package, and previous modification. A clear, detailed drawing is required before we confirm the custom construction.

There is no universal material. The suitable fill depends on the screen media, aperture size, material moisture and fibre content, brush location, machine speed, and service environment. Share the application details for review.
Can a trommel brush prevent all screen blinding?
No. A cleaning brush can help clear material buildup at a specified position, but the result also depends on the screen design, aperture, material condition, feed rate, rotation, and machine setup.
Do you supply driven and free-running trommel brushes?
We can review both arrangements. Please show how the existing brush is rotated and provide the drive-end, bearing, shaft, or holder details. The rotation method must be confirmed before the replacement brush is designed.
